The GMAC Corporate Recruiters Survey examines the job outlook for recent graduate business students as well as employer needs and expectations.

Overview

This survey examines the job outlook for recent graduate business students as well as employer’s needs and expectations. It provides a picture of the 2011 employment landscape; the demand for master’s–level business graduates, the current employment landscape, and provides insight into hiring practices and trends across industries and world regions.

The data collected from mid-February to mid-March 2011 reflects the responses of 1,509 participants representing 905 companies in 51 countries worldwide. Respondents in the United States represented firms in 40 states plus the District of Columbia.

Quick Facts

  • A majority of employer respondents are still grappling with the impacts of the recession and cost cutting measures, however more businesses are focusing on geographic and customer base expansion.
  • Globally, more companies are hiring and the average number is expected to increase in 2011.
  • Candidate quality remains the number one criteria employers use in their recruiting decisions.
