Inside the EA
The EA measures reasoning skills and helps you to determine a candidate's program readiness in 40 questions across 3 short sections:
- Integrated Reasoning measures the ability to evaluate information presented in multiple formats and from multiple sources. These skills are necessary to succeed in our data-driven world. (30 minutes, 12 questions)
- Verbal Reasoning measures the ability to evaluate arguments and read, understand, and edit written material using standard English. (30 minutes, 14 questions)
- Quantitative Reasoning measures the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions using reasoning skills. The math skills required for this section are at a secondary school level. (30 minutes, 14 questions)
Candidates can take the EA year round at one of more than 600 test centers around the world or online from the comfort of home. Like the test center experience, online test takers are also able to review and edit question responses within a section as they navigate through the assessment.

EA Scoring
The total scale ranges from 100 to 200, and the scale for each section of the assessment is 0 to 20. All three sections are equally weighted in determining candidates' total and results are valid for five (5) years. Additionally, EA candidates are given unlimited score sending as part of their registration (in addition to unlimited rescheduling and no rescheduling fees within more than 48 hours of an appointment).
