How do we request GMAT fee waivers?
Request waivers by completing this form with the following information:
- Number of fee waivers requested (up to 10)
- Intended use of the fee waivers
- Description of your process to determine eligibility for awarding GMAT fee waivers to candidates
If we do not have an outreach program for underserved students, may we still request fee waivers?
Yes, you may request fee waivers if you do not have an outreach program for underserved students.
How many fee waivers may we request at one time?
You may request and get approval for up to 10 waivers within a 12-month period.
Can students apply directly to GMAC for fee waivers?
No, GMAC does not provide fee waivers directly to students. Only schools can distribute fee waivers.
May we request just one fee waiver if we have only one test taker with demonstrated need?
Yes, you may request any number up to 10 waivers within a 12-month period. If you later find other test takers that need help, you can request additional waivers at a later date.
If we have a specific outreach program and need more than 10 fee waivers, may we request them?
Currently, we are only able to provide each school 10 fee waivers within a 12-month period.
Once we apply, how will we receive fee waivers?
Upon approval of your request, GMAC will provide the fee waiver codes to you via a secure email.
May we request 10 fee waivers at once and distribute them as needed throughout the year?
Yes, but remember that the fee waivers do expire. The expiration date is sent with the waiver codes. Expired fee waiver numbers cannot be reissued.
What monthly accounting do we need to send you on how we distributed the fee waivers?
You don't need to send any monthly accounting.
Does the fee waiver expiration date mean the registration date or the test date?
The exam must be taken by the expiration date of the fee waiver. Once registered for the test, the fee waiver is no longer available for another test date. If the candidate needs to reschedule, cancel, or simply not attend the test date, that waiver can not be reused for another test date, even if the test date is prior to the expiration date of the fee waiver. Registration should be done early so the waiver does not expire; testing appointments can be made up to six months in advance. "Walk-in" registrations at the test center are not accepted. Test takers should be advised that test center appointments often fill up well in advance, particularly for weekend appointments.
If we provide a fee waiver to a candidate, can we have the Official Score Report sent to us only?
No, the fee waiver is good for one test administration, which includes up to five Official Score Reports sent to programs of the examinee’s choosing.
How does GMAC define economically disadvantaged?
GMAC leaves that determination to the schools.
Can students use a GMAT Fee Waiver to reschedule a test or send a score report?
No, each GMAT Fee Waiver is good for one test administration only.
May we provide a fee waiver for a student who wants to retake the GMAT exam?
Yes, schools may elect to provide a fee waiver to an economically disadvantaged candidate wishing to retake the exam.
