Overview

In recognition of Women’s History Month, this research brief shares insights from GMAC’s 2023 Prospective Students Survey about women pursuing graduate management education. The brief highlights the key motivations, barriers, curricular interests, and post-GME career goals of global women candidates for business school to help business school professionals better engage this population.

Quick Facts

  • Globally, women are more likely than men to be motivated to attend graduate school to increase their income (69% women vs. 60% men). Women in the Graduate Management Education Pipeline
  • Women in the GME pipeline are more concerned with their ability to be successful in a graduate business program than men (29% of women cite this as a barrier vs. 23% of men).  
  • After graduating, women are more likely than men to pursue roles in the non-profit or government industries (32% women vs. 23% men).
