GMAC’s AI in Business Education case study series spotlights the integration of artificial intelligence in graduate management education, focusing on curriculum development, administrative processes, and strategic applications. Learn how Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign established a support framework that fostered experimentation with a variety of existing and custom designed GenAI tools among different schools and faculty—including two “teaching assistants” developed concurrently.

• Privacy and security: Both tools faced concerns of privacy of data and protection of learning materials, resulting in different large language models being deployed on local servers.
• Learning Management System (LMS) Integration: One tool integrated with Canvas to provide an interface directly in the LMS, whereas the other Gen-AI-based teaching assistant maintained an independent web interface.
