Global Online Fair Links Prospective Students With More Than 65 Business Schools September 10-11

Official GMATCH Online Fair Sponsored by Owner of GMAT Exam

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Jul 31, 2013) - Registration is now open for the Official GMATCH online fair, a global recruiting event sponsored by the Graduate Management Admission Council to be held September 10 and 11, 2013. The GMATCH fair allows prospective students to meet school representatives from more than 65 of the world's leading business and management programs from the comfort of their computer and at no cost.

"Our goal is to connect the talent and aspiration of these students with the education and career opportunities represented by these schools. The Official GMATCH online fair is an innovative way to bring those interested in an MBA degree or other graduate management program together with representatives from top schools and to demonstrate the GMAT's role as a first step in making these connections," said Pepe Carreras, vice president of marketing operations for the Graduate Management Admission Council, the non-profit association of the world's leading schools of business and management.

Established in 2010, GMATCH employs a rich graphical interface featuring online booths designed and run by each participating school. The fair includes a multimedia auditorium with presentations on a variety of topics, such as preparing for the GMAT exam with Integrated Reasoning and best practices for military veterans applying for business schools. The GMATCH fair also has a lounge to facilitate networking and will offer prizes including an iPad. The 2012 event drew nearly 3,000 participants from 120 countries.

Participating business schools include the University of California-Berkeley Haas School of Business (US), the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business (US), the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business (Canada), NMIMS School of Business Management (India), Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai College of Economics & Management (China), CEIBS (China), Melbourne Business School (Australia), Ashridge Business School (UK), London Business School (UK), and EMLYON (France). Each region will have its own directory so that those interested in studying in a particular region can access all relevant schools from one location.

This year's online fair will be open 365/24/7, which means the web-based environment, with recordings of the presentations and information from participating schools, will remain accessible for 12 months, and exhibitors will have the opportunity to refresh content all throughout the year. An email activity digest will be available to summarize recent content updates that potential students may want to come back for.

The GMATCH fair will be open for six hours on September 10 and 11, with different hours on each day for the convenience of people in different time zones. Visit mba.com/gmatch to register and to find more information about hours, presentations and participating schools. Questions about GMATCH should be directed to gmatch@gmac.com.

5 Tips for Getting the Most From GMATCH

GMAC offers five tips for prospective students attending the GMATCH online fair:

  • Before the event, check mba.com/gmatch to see which schools are participating and check out the websites of those you're interested in. Use GMATCH as an opportunity to ask school representatives for information not available on their websites.
  • Register for the fair with the exact name and contact information you will use throughout the admissions process so schools can track their interactions with you.
  • Update your resume so you are prepared to attach it to your profile at the event and send it with ease to participating schools.
  • Be prepared and professional from the moment you register. Having informed questions and using proper spelling and grammar will help you make a good impression on admissions professionals.
  • Take advantage of auditorium sessions to find out more about the GMAT and test prep, talk to current students, and explore programs. Sign up for email updates to find out when schools have refreshed content in the online environment.
