RESTON, Va. (May 21, 2019) – The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), a global association of leading graduate business schools, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sanjiv Kapur to its board of directors. Mr. Kapur’s term began in October 2018 and will run through June 30, 2022. He brings extensive investment experience across global emerging markets and will serve on the Finance and Investment Committee.
“Over the past two decades, graduate management education has seen tremendous growth in emerging markets around the world,” said Sangeet Chowfla, president and CEO of GMAC. “Sanjiv’s experience and insight in those regions and other markets will serve GMAC well in our focus to build data-driven tools that help schools and candidates around the world discover and evaluate each other.”
Mr. Kapur also serves as a Senior Advisor of EMPEA, the premier global industry association for private capital in emerging markets.

In addition to Mr. Kapur’s appointment, Donna Rapaccioli and Jon Erickson were reelected to a second term that begins on July 1, 2019 and runs through June 30, 2023. Ms. Rapaccioli has served on the Audit and Risk and Finance and Investment Committees since joining GMAC’s board in 2014 and for the past three years has served as Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee. Mr. Erickson has served on the Audit and Risk and Compensation Committees since 2016 and has served as Chairperson of the Compensation Committee.
